The Hungry Lion
The Hungry Lion began as a little AJAX and Ruby on Rails project when we realized that it might actually prove to be a useful website. Sure, there are tons of food sites online. We frequent many of them. But, there just aren’t many which focus on food options in the Columbia University and Morningside Heights area. Also, so few of them are made with students (and students’ budgets) in mind. Maybe a $12 burger will qualify as a cheap eat after we graduate from our overpriced educations, but, right now, we want to find the restaurants which will fill us up and leave $12 to buy beer. If you feel the same way, then this is the site for you. We’re hoping to give students and Morningside Heights residents an easy way to find something good to eat. It’s got all the tools you need with sorting by cuisine, location, and price as well as online menus and delivery information for those days you just want to eat in.
The Lion’s Den
The Lion’s Den (the site you’re on right now) is the companion site to The Hungry Lion. Not wanting to project our biases in the listings, we decided to create a separate blog for more editorial content. Really, it’s just another food blog. Does the world need another one? Well, if you ask us, you can never talk too much about food. So, YES! We’ll be featuring restaurant reviews, recipes, and all things dining and, most importantly, we’ve decided not to limit our hunting grounds to Morningside Heights. So, there will be all sorts of gurgitory (is that word?) excitement. Bon appetite!
